ABOUT T-SWIRL CREPE WEBSITE

Welcome to T-swirl Crepe’s online showcase! The website is your gateway to the heart of the brand, featuring everything from the company profile to a delightful array of products. Seamlessly navigate through the user-friendly platform, explore franchising possibilities, and experience the essence of T-swirl Crepe.

Taking over from the previous developer, I stepped into refining and enhancing this website, infusing it with creativity and efficiency while ensuring it’s a treasure trove of comprehensive information. The goal was to revamp the platform, making it more engaging, functional, and informative than ever before.

Problem Statements

ABOUT UI: I opted not to extensively reuse the previous team’s user interface for both the mobile and computer versions. This decision stemmed from the outdated design, lack of appropriate padding and spacing, and an overwhelming use of colors within the system.

ABOUT UX: Upon assessing the prioritized features through cardsorting, it became evident that critical pages, such as the Order page, were either insufficient or non-existent. Considering that users primarily visit T-swirl Crepe’s website to place orders, this was a crucial oversight. Additionally, the client mentioned a regular influx of 2-3 franchising inquiries per day, a feature absent in the old website. Moreover, the brand frequently launches campaigns and announces new openings, necessitating a space for continuous updates on these developments.

THE SOLUTIONS

Any Ideas and Solutions?

UI ENHANCEMENT:
  1. Modern Design Overhaul: Implement a contemporary design that enhances the visual appeal and usability of both the mobile and computer versions. Focus on clean layouts, appropriate padding, and a cohesive color scheme to create a more visually pleasing and user-friendly interface.
UX IMPROVEMENT:
  1. Optimized Order Page: Prioritize the creation and optimization of the Order page to streamline the user experience for customers looking to place their crepe orders.
  2. Franchising Page: Introduce a dedicated page for franchising inquiries on the website. This includes a form of contact information for potential franchisees to express their interest and get in touch with the T-swirl Crepe team.
  3. News Page: Develop a system for real-time updates on campaigns, new openings, and other news.
  4. Catering Page:┬áThis page is developed in order to serve customers who have a desire to order with a large quantity of T-swirl’s products.
  5. Responsive Design: Ensure that the website is fully responsive, adapting seamlessly to various screen sizes and devices. This guarantees a consistent and enjoyable experience for users regardless of the device they are using.

THE OUTCOME

What I have learnt

This is my very first time of creating a website for a business. The learning curve has been steep, considering it’s my inaugural attempt at developing a business website. Inevitably, there have been some hiccups and errors along the way. The process has not only expanded my knowledge but has also instilled a sense of satisfaction in seeing the final product come to fruition. Navigating the WordPress interface, delving into HTML and CSS for customizations, and mastering troubleshooting were integral to the process.

Effective communication with the client, thorough testing for functionality across devices, and honing time management skills became key takeaways. This project not only enriched my technical abilities but also emphasized the importance of client interaction, quality assurance, and efficient project management, setting a solid foundation for my future pursuits in web development. Furthermore, it is important to know the balance between features that bring usefulness to users and value to businesses.
