ABOUT GB HYDROPONIC WEBSITE

GB Hydroponic is a website serving for people who want to purchase appropriate, high quality, effective and affordable hydroponic equipment such as lights, nutrient supplements and so on. In this project, I have cooperated with the founder for developing his brand from the begining until now. In detail, I took responsiblility for (1) creating brand identity (logo, colour palette, typography,…), (2) developing the official website for the brand to sell its products at the Australian market.

Problem Statements

  1. This is a startup at Australia and the investment for building the website is limited.

  2. According to the founder, theĀ customers mostly comes from his friends and acquaintances. As a result, the website at the beginning stage does not need many pages and complex effects. He just wants to keep the website as simple and minimal as much as possible. However, the website must have high effectiveness for shoppers to buy via both cash and cashless method.

WHAT HAVE I DONE?

  1. Originating from the main theme of Hydroponics, I have used a dominant green color tone, combined with lights designed in the shape of the letter G. This not only symbolizes the GB Hydroponic brand but also represents one of the most popular and essential devices in hydroponic cultivation.

  2. Furthermore, based on the problem statements mentioned earlier, I have developed this website with a predominant color scheme of white and green. In addition, only four main pages have been designed, including the Home page, About Us, Shop, and Contact Us. Click HERE for detailed information about the website.

THE OUTCOME

What I have learnt

Even though this project has many disadvantageous factors, I successfully complete the task with high satisfaction from the client. This project taught me the importance of aligning design choices with the core theme of the content.

Additionally, the streamlined approach of having only four main pages proved effective in delivering a focused and user-friendly website. Understanding the user’s journey and needs allowed me to prioritize essential information and minimize unnecessary clutter. This project reinforced the idea that simplicity and thematic consistency are key elements in creating a successful and engaging web presence.
